The Long Silence...

Yep it's blimin' freezing here at Cookshop HQ but no we haven't gone into hibernation, far from it! At the moment we're busy hatching plans for 2008 which include the long awaited follow up to our Soundbites CD compilation, cunningly titled Soundbites Vol.2, which will be released early next year accompanied by the next installment of our Taster EP series, check out our Myspace page for a couple of sneak previews......We're also pleased to announce that long-term collaborator Implosion Quintet will be dropping an album on Cookshop featuring an astonishing amalgamation of sounds and influences joining the dots between tango, electronic, jazz, metal, post-rock, opera, bossa nova and whatever else they’ve been listening to that particular day...Lost Idol has been busying away in his studio on work for his second album, follow up to his highly acclaimed debut Utters From A Cluttered Mind...and we hope to release new music from Cookshop regulars Digital Midgets and Jonathan Krisp too...
So rest assured all is well here and we'll be bringing new sounds to speakers near you soon....

We're verily chuffed to announce we'll be hosting a Cookshop showcase at this years Big Chill Festival! Come check us out at 2pm on Friday 3rd August at the Finlandia cocktail bar where we'll be spinning some right tasty platters from the Cookshop catalogue. We'll also come armed with plenty of freebies for the Purple People including mix CDs, badges, spatulas, and any other promo garb we can muster.

Good people of Brighton rejoice! We have two new regular nights a-happenin' in this fair town. Under the Sounds Like Science moniker we'll be playing records every Monday evening at the Arthouse on Western Road, plus hosting a monthly live night the first of which features guests Christ and Tomcats In Tokyo upstairs at The Hope on 8th June.
